OPTICAL COHERANCE TOMOGRAPHY
This is CT scan of the eye. This is a spectral domine tool which helps in scanning the eye and identify diseases. 1.Corneal Disease 2.Optic nerve disease Eg: glaucoma ( Earliest identification possible) 3.Retinal disease 4.Structural malformations
YAG Laser
This LASER is used to clear membranes in the eye and to treat glaucoma . The procedure is outpatient based and is done from outside the eye most often non touch. Hence the recovery is almost immediate.
AUTO REFRACTO KERATOMETER
Used to check the power of the eye. Useful to measure corneal power for contact lens, cataract surgery, LASIK etc.
GREEN LASER
The most efficient and safest treatment in Diabetic eye disease and many other vascular eye diseases. Again an outpatient procedure which can seal the leak and hence avoid unnecessary blindness.
VISUAL FIELD ANALYSER
This helps to identify vision at specific points on ones visual area and hence understand focal defects in vision. This visual loss cant be seen by the patient but can be identified by this test. This is useful in glaucoma, neural diseases and brain tumor detection and followup.
LENSOMETER
Used to check the power of glasses and contact lens.
NON CONTACT TONOMETER
Used to check the eye pressure. Normal pressure is 16 – 21 mmHg.
SLIT LAMP
This is a microscope used to look into the eye to identify problems.
CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY
This measures the power of the cornea. The machine takes power of 35000 different points in 2 secs. Very useful in LASIK, Intarlase and SMILE surgeries.
